Clean

• What does it mean to be a "Clean" brand?

A Clean brand is one without harsh chemicals, sulfates, or parabens. We strive to honor the European Clean Standard when creating our products. Full transparency is provided within our product listings. We fully believe you should have every right to the knowledge of what is being applied to your skin-yes, even down to the fragrance.

• Are your products vegan?

While we strive to create products that are as vegan-friendly as possible, our "Beloved Body Butter" and our “Restore Calming Face Mask” contain beeswax to create a silky texture while maintaining hold and form. 

• Since my products are “clean”, will that affect application? Does that make them any different from products at the local stores? 

Yes! A major key factor in how a clean product is made, is how it includes the preservatives within the product. Traditional store products will include several forms of alcohol to dehydrate the formula, making it thinner and less rich. Our products exclude excessive alcohols, and only use the preservatives legally required to comply with the production of products overall. This will mean most products will be slightly richer than conventional products, and therefore excellent for a dry, sensitive, and dehydrated, skin types. 

• Help! My Body Butter has melted. What do I do?

Great question! Considering our products are natural, clean, and made without excessive alcohol alcohols, your body butter is truly “a-butter-for-the-body.”imagine placing a stick of butter and a hot car, or being packaged and sent in a hot truck, train or plane. It may be an interesting journey. No worries! If your body butter arrives in melted form, simply place your butter back into the refrigerator, or freezer for faster time, and it will solidify again easily!

• Are your products fragrance free?

We believe in full transparency within the ingredients of our products. We only provide fragrance via essential oils, which are all listed within our product descriptions. We fully understand some clients will need completely fragrance free options; of which, we are happy to provide. • Are your products made in small batches or mass produced?

All of our products are created in small batches bi-weekly. For more information, please visit our Returns & Shipment Policies.

Sensitive

• What is the difference between "sensitive" skin and "sensitized" skin?

Sensitive skin corresponds with the skin's natural demeanor. Most naturally sensitive skin types have been sensitive for majority of the customers life. This means, it is not uncommon for the customer to see signs such as redness on a regular basis. 
whereas sensitized skin is a condition that happens to any other skin type. A skin type becomes sensitized when a treatment or product is applies that causes a tingle, heat, or slight discomfort to the skin. For a skin type that normally does not experience redness, they would experience it after being sensitized.

• What does it mean to be "safe for sensitive skin"?

We place great care in confirming that our products are safe for sensitive skin. This means that clients can expect no tingle, burn, or heighten discomfort when using our products. We strive to be the brand that sensitive skin clients can come to and know that they can have a gentle, calming, and rejuvenating experience. 

• Are your products safe for eczema-prone or rosacea prone?

Great question! Yes, we are!

• If I naturally have dry skin, which product should I try first?

if you have naturally dry skin, we highly recommend trying our “Renew Gel Face Mask”, in addition to the “Restore Calming Face Mask”! Combining the “Beloved Body Butter” with the “Abide Body Oil” is also an excellent option for those with dry skin! For breakouts and congestion, we highly recommend pairing the “Royal Clay Face Mask” with one of our more hydrating options as well. This mask can be used in conjunction with any of our other masks, or even be followed up with the “Abide Body Oil” to ensure hydration!

• If I naturally have oily skin, which product should I try first?

If you naturally have oily skin, we highly recommend the “Royal Clay Face Mask.” For red, tender, and uncomfortable breakouts, follow with the “Restore Calming Face Mask.” For lightweight hydration for the body, we highly recommend the use of the “Abide Body Oil” both on the face and the body. Customers with oily skin can also place the body oil within their bathtub as a special trick.

• If I naturally have combination skin, which product should I try first?

if you have combination skin, our entire collection is excellent for you! For additional customization, determine whether or not your combination skin leans more towards combination oily or combination dry. But overall, our entire collection is excellent for combination skin types!

• If I naturally have red or reddness prone skin, which product should I try first?

if your skin is prone to redness, then the “ Restore Calming Face Mask”  is the superhero product for you! All of the products will be complimentary, but if you can only choose one? This is the star for you! Our body collection is also lovely for those with redness prone skin.

Edifying

• What does "edifying" mean?

To “edify” means to build up or encourage! This is a Term that is often used in Christian faith based settings and is inspired by the apostle Pauls teachings! An example of this is Romans 14:19, “So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.” Because of this, we believe it is more important to encourage those around us then to tear them down.

• What makes Renew Skincare a faith-based company? 
  
  

Renew Skincare is inspired by the love of Jesus and how that love transforms our every day lives! We fully believe that this love radiates through the every day, not just exclusively on Sundays. A verse that takes priority for us is Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” So be it skincare, putting on her make up, we’re spending time with loved ones, the love of Jesus is prominent and shines through all we do!

• How does your Christian faith influence your product development?

Excellent question! In reference to the verse up above, we fully believe that our brand is not just a hobby or fun activity for us, but a reflection of worship to Jesus. Therefore, there is a level of transparency, integrity, and excellence that we strive to achieve in order to bring honor to his name. For example, if your grandmother was known for baking pies, and you started making pies for your neighborhood, but we’re using pour/expired  ingredients, not honoring her recipe, and being mean to those who purchased the pies -would that reflect the love you have for your grandma? Not at all! In the same way, we care for our production, products, and customers throughout the whole process.

• Do your products include any biblical inspiration?

Yes they do! Each product is named by a specific verse in the Bible.

• Is Renew Skincare only for Christians?

Not at all!  Everyone is more than welcome to find joy within our brands and products! Door’s always open!

Mission/Values/Mission

• How do you combine wellness, skincare, and faith?

We believe that the art of selfcare starts with faith at the core. By beginning with the peace of Jesus, it leads us to care for others and ourselves. Although, we all need a reminder from time to time that we are God’s creation. We hope that our products continue to form a circle where all 3 combine. 

• Do you tithe any portions of sales?

Yes!! 10% of all sales are contributed towards local charities and ministries. 

• Who is behind the brand, and what inspired it?

Wife and Mother, Imani Aflleje is behind the creation of Renew Skincare. She spends her days spending time with her family, enjoying multiple hobbies such as writing books, gardening, and of course-skincare. As an esthetician, she has always worked within the beauty industry and is excited to combine her love of beauty and faith to serve her community.
